Es ist an einem Samstag, kurz vor 17 Uhr, als wir uns im Loft Five an der Bar wiederfanden. In einem Neubau (Europaallee 15, 8004 Zürich) , der von aussen an Hässlichkeit kaum zu übertreffen ist, befindet sich das Restaurant mit Bar und Lounge. Die Bar ist sehr schön eingerichtet, mit industriellem Flair aber trotzdem nicht zu kühl. Eine hohe Decke gibt der Bar eine entspannte, freie Atmosphäre.
Loft Five
Wir tranken einen Grapefruit Lime Martini und einen Old Cuban. Beides sehr erfrischende Drinks, perfekt für den späten Nachmittag/frühen Abend. Der Barkeeper versteht sein Handwerk, die Drinks waren gut gemixt und ausgewogen. Nicht zu süss, nicht zu sauer, der Alkohol war spürbar aber nicht dominant. Ausserdem war er sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Dass er seine Profession liebt, merkt man auch daran, dass er eigene Sirups und Liköre macht. Er gab uns ein wenig vom frisch gemachten Rhabarber Likör zum Probieren, wir fanden diese Geste sehr sympatisch.

It is on a Saturday, shortly before 17 o’clock, when we found ourselves at the Loft Five bar. In a new building (Europa Allee 15 , 8004 Zurich) , there is a restaurant, bar and lounge. The bar is beautifully decorated , with industrial flair but still not too cool. A high ceiling gives the bar a relaxed and open atmosphere .
We drank a grapefruit lime Martini and an Old Cuban. Both very refreshing drinks, perfect for late afternoon / early evening. The bartender knows his stuff, the drinks were well mixed and balanced. Not too sweet, not too sour, the alcohol was noticeable but not dominant. He was also very accommodating and friendly. We could see that he loves his profession, he makes his own syrups and liqueurs. He gave us a little bit of freshly made rhubarb liqueur to taste, we found this gesture very sympathetic
